Open Morfous
Morfous is an avatar video call app that runs in your browser. Your camera captures your face and expressions, and a 3D character copies them in real time. Call anyone by sharing a link, or pipe your avatar into Zoom, Google Meet or Discord.
What you get
- Morfous is a browser app for live 3D avatar video calls, previously known as AvatarCam.
- {'Your camera drives the character in real time': 'the avatar copies your face and expressions, and its mouth moves when you talk.'}
- Nothing is installed; it runs in the browser on a laptop or a phone, and your characters and uploaded files stay on your device.
- You can pick a ready-made character, make a cartoon of yourself from one photo, build your own in the Character Creator, or upload your own VRM or GLB avatar, including VRoid avatars.
- Optional arm tracking and hand gestures mirror your real arms and hands; a buttons mode lets you move the character with no camera at all while you still talk and type.
- Expression keys and a reactions menu switch the face between neutral, happy, angry, sad, relaxed and surprised.
- You call someone by sharing a link or your Morfous number; there is a built-in chat for text, links and images, saved contacts, redial and call alerts.
- It can be piped into Zoom, Google Meet or Discord so the avatar appears in any video call.
- Voice effects change pitch and tone; there is a choice of backgrounds and framing, with sparkle and heart effects on reactions.
- Morfous is free to use and is made by a small team in Phoenix, Arizona.
